Exclamation The Spoils RELAUNCH tournament

The Spoils is still alive and kicking. The release of the new 2-player Starter Kit is living proof of that.
We have asked stores across the USA to celebrate the relaunch of The Spoils with us and host a team-tournament using the new 2-player kit which releases on April 27th.

Help your local store host the event!
If your local store hasn’t already announced this, please tell them about the event. If you have the time for it, then perhaps suggest to the store that you would help them get the event organized. From our end we would certainly greatly appreciate any help you can give the stores to get The Spoils back on its feet!

Tournament Set-up:
Players join the event as a team of two players.
Each team of two players buys a 2-player Starter Kit.
The kit holds two decks (Arcanist/Warlord & Banker/Rogue) + a booster of fixed cards.
The host of the tournament then selects from one of the following two options for deck construction prior to the tournament start:
  • Option 1) Players use the decks as they are, but are allowed to add/exchange cards from the booster from the kit + they are allowed to add another 1-2 boosters (at organizer’s discretion) to further diversify the decks. The players then use the same decks throughout the tournament.
  • Option 2) Players opens the two decks + the booster from the kit and then add 1-2 boosters (at organizer’s discretion). From this total cardpool the team then makes two entirely new decks as they see fit. They then play with the same decks throughout the tournament.
Scoring Rules & Tournament Software:
After both games are finished the scores are entered into the tournament software according to the system below:
WIN: Team wins both games – or team wins one game and ties the other.
TIE: Team wins one game and loses the other – or team ties both games.
LOSS: Team loses both games – or team loses one game and ties the other.

Tournament date
Any date after the release date (27th of April).

Have fun!
The above rules are just meant to be guidelines for a fun event. If you feel that making changes to the above will make for a better tournament, please feel free to make these changes.

PS: Thank you to Jeff Millegan and his local players for the great idea for this fun format!

ps
for scoring there are two things you can do.
1) only put one person in the computer so just pick one member of the team and put them in the program and the win loss tie is for the team.
2) run 2 tournaments with half the team on one tournament and the other half on another one. then random the first and manual set the other.
i like the first option better it is less work.

have fun all.

This sounds like a great way to light the fires again! I've contacted my FLGS already about the possibility, and offered to help. I for one hope this takes hold and gets things rolling.
