Default "Help doc" creation: How to run a streamlined and fun tournament?

We are looking to produce a series of ”Help Docs” or ”How-To guides” and are wondering if some of our good community members out there might be interested in helping with this?

This is the thread on "How to run a streamlined and fun tournament".

For info on the other help docs/threads, please go here: http://thespoils.com/spoils/view.php...eers_help_docs

One guy should be the "author" of the doc and will as such be in charge of putting it together; but everybody can chime in on this thread!

I'd be interested in developing this document for you. I've got somewhere around six years of experience running tournaments all of types, using just about every potential system, including dedicated tournament programs, paper and pencil, and even a few large scale events. Would you like the community to work together producing the outline, or should someone start drafting and present the ideas for the community?

Sounds great that you can help with this
It is probably best if you start out by making the first draft and then have comnunity chip in.
But I believe there are already several forum posts that coudl be used for these articles, so if you can find some of these, then perhaps that can be helpful too.

All in all work as it works the best for you.
Thanks for helping out with this.

I'm so sorry I've taken so long to get to this. My life kind of fell apart shortly after I decided to pitch in and I'm just not getting things back in order. If this still isn't done, I will have a draft done by next weekend.

I have been working on this, but I would rather have player created documents than writing everything myself as it looks better for the game. If you end up writing your piece then be sure to send it along to me. If you decide you don't want to write it and/or don't have the time for it, that's fine too as I have a document in the slot if it is needed.
