Thread: A Gamblers Dream: Luck of the Draw or Way of Life?

  1. Default A Gamblers Dream: Luck of the Draw or Way of Life?

    Recently I've been looking in depth into the use of gamblers in casual play. Looking at the current amount of gamblers, grifters, and pluck characters I find it incredibly difficult to find a way to make an entirely gambler deck. Seeking help I tryed searching for it online to no avail. With the lack of support from internet and personal inquiry I'm honestly wondering. Is an all gambler deck possible or even probable or is the only way to include gamble cards to also include cycle cards and some sort of capture discarded cards deck. My main goal is to use gamblers and tactics to force some interesting, intricate and creative enjoyable play. A deck that will draw away from straightfoward play and force the opponent and myself to really think outside the box. Let me know what you think.

    If you just want to search for key wordings such as "flip a coin" or "top card of your deck", I recommend using www.spoilsinventory.com.

    Gambling Den (SEED)
    Oppurtune Slotpuller (SEED)
    Rigged Tables (SEED)
    Roulette Wheel of DOOM! (SEED)
    Underhanded Gamer (SEED)

    For starters. (Theme = Gambling) (WARNING: Not all are the best choices for this idea).

    Also that new Seraphim in the Rogue Faction really makes a lot of the rogue cards that gamble with what the top card of your deck is, better.

    One of the main problems I was having is there is simply not enough damage to be had with the gamblers. Am I simply just not seeing the big picture or is there really actually some lack of damage. I understand that the underhanded gamer is going to do some steady damage but its hard to see this competing with higher damage character decks. Looking around on spoils inventory what do you think of: Flailing knife, Warehouse Raid, and Fwing. Not so sure about warehouse raid but I suppose it could be used for cycling the top card on the opponents deck. How bout the addition of Cheats McGuillicutty and possibly the other "pluck" characters. Also Smothering Corpulence looks like a good card for this. Let me know what you think and possibly some other ideas for additions.

    ironically this is one of my two deck builds. The one I am currently using is nothing more then a banker stomper...

    let me rephrase that...

    the deck is pure Deception, fed from making your opponent discard off the top, and 4x Tremor Engine's

    you get my point.

    but I like this build, I use it as a learning deck to counter balance the others. It makes a great example of the risky behavior of the Rouge gallery in The Spoils.
