    Default Thresh-less Flipup

I'm imagining maybe a cycle of commons with Flip up, but without any threshold requirements to flip them up. I figure they could be useful in drafts, letting any trade flip them but only the real trade can play them from their hand.

    For example:

    Generic Fattie
    3[E][E]
    3/4/3
    Gearsmith Character - 31f
    Flip up - 5

    Generic Aggro Guy
    1[R][R]
    2/1/2
    Warlord Character - Soldier
    Flip up - 3

    Thoughts?

It would be a difficult line to toe as to how to make it remain good enough to be a playable generic and still not only be good enough to make it into their own actual decks, but have the difference make doing so an incentive.

That's what R&D is for. I figure it's just a matter of juggling the numbers. They could also have stuff like Recyclable Golem and Redonkulous; "if you played this card without using Flip Up", etc to allow more powerful effects and effects tied to particular trades.

I've made a few examples of potential threshless flipup applications in the New Card Ideas. I think they're reasonably balanced. Experimenting with flipping stuff down under your opponent's control, then letting the opponent flip them up. It's a pretty specific use of threshless flipup, but I think it's a wide open design area.

    Explosive Implosion
    0[R]
    Warlord Tactic
COST - Pick a face-down resource your opponent controls.
EFFECT - Destroy it. Draw a card. Put this card into play under your opponent's control as a face-down resource.
    Flip up - 0

    Delinquent Reprobate
    3[G][G]
    4/5/3
    Banker Character - Mercenary, Mau
If this card is destroyed, flip it face-down under your opponent's control instead.
    Flip up - 5

    Hired Hand
    4[D][D]
    3/3/4
    Rogue Character - Miner
    Your opponent owns this card.
If this card leaves play, flip it face-down under its owner's control instead.
    Flip up - 5

I was thinking about something similiar.

    Generic Flamethrower
    Warlord item
    2[R][R]

    Ability: BBQ
Cost: If you own this card, flip it facedown under your opponent's control. Otherwise, remove it from the game.
Effect: Your opponent's faction looses 4 influence.

    Flip up: 3

I like the idea of thresh-less flip-ups but this

    Just a thought.

The idea of cheap flip up cards with no threshold really bothers me. I think for a card to have no threshold to flip, it also needs no threshold to play regularly. That way it doesn't become a card that's faction specific.
