Thread: Mono Warlord

  1. Default Mono Warlord

I´ve build my first Spoilsdeck yesterday:

    2 Rage

    4 Oversoon Lightfoot
    4 Warrior Prodigy
    2 Impressive Hero
    4 Flaming Barduse
    4 Scout
    4 Deadly Striker
    2 Suicide Squad
    4 Bloodcurdling Bulldozer
    4 Reckless Challenger
    4 Sadistic Colonel

    2 Watchtower
    4 Tactician Vacation
    3 Distraction
    3 Blow Up
    3 Kettinger
    4 Dragon Juice
    3 Pinch
    4 Dethmurderbludgeon, the Craghammer
    2 Shriever Attack
    2 Eye Gouge
    4 Noble Sacrifice
    4 Target Practice
    4 Penetrate

How do you like it,what should I change?
It´s my first deck (and also my first post in this forum btw ), so I´m asking for a lot of answers

I play a similar deck, and I'll tell you right now that you need to cut a lot of tactics out. A warlord no-resource deck needs to work fast, as the strategy is to beat down your opponent in as few turns as possible, and if you draw tactics constantly instead of characters, that will be impossible. Also, keep the cost of characters down by cutting some of the less useful characters like scout and flaming barduse. I use characters that double as alternatives to my tactics. For example, Idol Smasher is the same as blow up, but idol smasher summons a character, where as blow up does a one time damage.

Also, starting with the Warlord faction should let you get rid of some of those tactics, since you can just use the faction's ability and blow up a character to do damage and hopefully kill one of theirs.

    thanks for the answers
I tried another Deck from Scratch

    (Warlord fraction)
    2 Rage

    3 Warrior Prodigy
    2 Flaming Barduse
    4 Oversoon Lightfoot
    2 Scout
    4 Idol Smasher
    4 Deadly Striker
    4 Crazed Deputy
    3 Sadistic Colonel
    3 Bloodcurdling Bulldozer
    2 Heirloom Incinerator
    3 Reckless Challenger
    4 Enduring Swordsman
    4 Trophy Collector
    3 Proficient Battler
    4 Tiny Sarume
    4 Courageous Paladin

    4 Noble Sacrifice
    4 Target Practice
    4 Dethmurderbludgeon, the Craghammer
    4 Penetrate
    3 Pinch
    4 Dragon Juice
    2 Tactician Vacation
    4 Watchtower

I don´t know if some of these cards (mainly Tiny Sarume) are good or crap :/
Any suggestions to this new deck?

Tiny Sarume is a good turn 1 card, although no where near the power of the erotic assassin (banker).

Trophy Collector - yeah, it's cheap - but if you have gotten your opponent down to 10 or less, then you are probably well on the way to winning with what you already have. And if not, well, I guess it could be a face-down reasource. Certainly not a four-of in this deck, IMO.

And speaking of four-of's - for beginning Deck Builders, I recommend a pretty simple formula:

    15 non-resource cards - four of each
    15 resources

All the good experienced players will probably Perforate this, but here's my logic:
Four of - If a card is really worth having in the deck, then put in four (exceptions possibly for Uniques and decks with lots of search, etc), to increase the chances of getting them in your hand when you need them.
Resources - yeah, probably too many. But we have all watched newbies hesitate and squirm at playing a "good" card as a face down (Might reduce this with decent flip-ups - like Noble Sacrifice, Flabbergasting Philosopher, Strangulate, Architectural Restitution, etc)
Top 8 in every event I have entered (when 7 or less other people showed up)

When was the last time you introduced someone new to this game we love?
