I so need one of those.
Sweet Tattoo red, is that type of tattoo more common these days? Are they more expensive to get than "regular" tats? Are there any risks involved that go beyond the normal risks when getting a tattoo? These are only visible under a blacklight, correct?
The reason I ask is because I am 32 years old and have NO tattoos. I have considered getting one several times but I like the idea of being "pure" so to speak (I also have no peircings or wear any jewelery or things like that) Also, I am a manager at a destination resort and I need to look "respectable" (not that I personally feel that those covered in tats cannot be respected people)...BUT with these types of tattoos I could rock it and no one would know except close friends and family. Nice.Just curious, these are VERY intriguging tattoos indeed.
May we all live as long as we want...and never want as long as we live!
the UV tattoos have died down again b/c tattoos are becoming more of the "norm" and people are thinking that if they go threw all the pain they want to show it off ... the only real dif. in the ink is that the UV stuff can fad a lot ezer if u dont take care of ur tattoo when its healing ... and yes u can only see it under a blacklight!

So, I was reading through these boards and found this thread and realized I had some information I needed to share! Believe it or not, I'm also a professional tattoo artist and have been in the industry for almost a decade now... Here's the deal, when a tattoo ink company releases a product, it gets heavily tested and a composite called an MSDS report (material safety data sheet) is created. So an ink to be used in the body has to be tested heavily... Only one company, Chameleon Ink, which has been around for like ten or eleven years, uses a compound called BIOMETRIX System-1000 ("BMX 1000") Photonic Marking Formulation Spectral Marking Pigment ("SMP")... It's the only blacklight ink on the market that's "safe". So if any of you are getting jumpy for blacklight ink... make sure your artist is using safe products. Now with that being said, at my shop, we choose to avoid using the pigment only because the active agent that is UV reactive has not been proven to NOT cause cancer or other abnormalities... Either way, good luck and get covered.
