Thread: SEED only decks for States?

  1. Default SEED only decks for States?

So my local store is going to be running a states qualifier and I was wondering what everyone thought the best SEED only deck choice would be for states? I've just picked up the game but I really enjoy it and would like to be competitive with it! I bought a Warlords starter and a couple packs but really anything would be open to me... Thanks everyone!

    Check out http://www.spoilsinventory.com
It's a great card search engine with good filtering options. Take a look through all the Seed cards and see what appeals to you There are usually lots of people around and willing to give advice on deck construction once you put something out there for critique.

I guess we aren't going to know what the best seed only deck is going to be till we actually have these events but my money is on something that looks like this,

    1 Elitism
    11 Rage
    4 Violence

    4 Gideon, the Ultimate Warrior
    4 Adriel, Defender of Marduun
    4 Blazing Shriever
    4 Cowering Golem
    4 Idol Smasher
    4 Spitting Sarume
    4 Dragon Archer
    4 Oddment Collector
    4 Tiny Sarume
    4 Noble Sacrifice
    4 Boilstorm
    4 Mighty Ballista
    4 Improvised Blowtorch
    4 H07 P3pp3r
    4 Runic Reinforcement

If you aren't playing bombs like Gideon, Cowering Golem and Dragon Archer you're definitely going to want to build with those cards in mind.

Thanks so much guys! This is awesome. I was looking for a nice online card listing too so this should be really helpful. Anyone know the best place to get singles?

What a silly thing to say... People should be encouraged to come to this forum and talk about ideas for decks, card interactions, and especially sharing tech. Through discussion, people learn and grow as players.

I can sort of understand your sentiment, given what that sort of environment does to other card games, but you should view The Spoils as an entity unto itself. So much more of a game's outcome in The Spoils relies on the pilot than in most other games that I've played so copying a deck, even card for card, says nothing about the eventual outcome. Even if we all showed up to a tournament with either of offerings posted above, the best player would still probably win. Everything from the mulligan to how fast a player develops resources can drastically change the outcome of any given match.

Ultimately, viewing decks on the net is a learning aid for new players. If you don't want new players to get a helping hand, could you at least keep your curmudgeon attitude to yourselves?

oh I've got no problem with player discussing deck ideas and combos and so forth.. I don't like the people who build a deck directly from the internet and play it just because it is a "winner." Now if by chance if you build a deck and discuss it and get help, that's fine. I just don't like "cookie cutter" deck people. This thread just sounded like to me that the guy was just asking for a full deck list to build a deck to play vs asking just for an idea or two to build off of, then come back for help.
