    Default sydney wcc

Hey guys, Bomber here with my first tournament report.

Today was our first WCC and the format was sealed.
My cardpool consisted of only 2 playable gearsmith cards of 5 opened, with a little rogue and a small amount of splashable arcanist.
However my main supply of quality came in the form of banker and warlord commons and uncommons.
    Decklist.

    Scintillating Chamber-Pot
    Hungry-Hungry Idol
    Prehensile Pirate
    Unscrupulous Attendant
    Auspicious Tax
    Chancellor of Reinstatement x2
    Walk the Plank
    Extravagant Contusion
    Circumspect Hijacker
    Flabbergasting Philosopher x2
    Fiscal Intercessor
    Strangulate x2
    Horrendous Behemoth
    The Abominable Hamster
    Encumber x2
    Flagitious Denuniciator
    Foul Diviner
    Blazing Shriever
    Colossal Flattener
    Manful Skirmish
    Perforate x2
    Robustical Badass x2
    Vigilant Raider

    Deception x1 starting
    Obsession x1 starting
    Greed x8
    Rage x6

    Tournament Faction

Some interesting mistakes/picks was forgetting to play Moist Cave as my faction and leaving Treasure Brokerage on the sidelines.

But alas, round 1 pairings came up and I was sitting across from my team-mate Timur(Neva on the forums). He was playing arcanist/banker with a splash of rage, playing tournament faction. i won the roll, mulliganed 2 cards and we both spent the first 4 turns playing resource and drawing cards until he dropped a Chamber-Pot. I responded with a Flattener and we moved them to the side as they stayed depleted for the remainder of the match .
The board filled up with creatures as we both looked for some removal, when two Badass' set the clock ticking and forced Timur into some bad combat situations. When the removal came it rained, with all but 2 of my men(including the Flattener) sticking around with my friend on an empty board.
His next character was joined by my SC-Pot and I raced around his depleted defence to take the game while at 32 life due to Encumber-ing my own Philosophers in battle.

    1-0

Round two was against a one of the more local guys(since I live approx 2 hours from Sydney). Daniel was playing Banker/Gearsmith and just couldnt get his men to stick to the table.

    2-0

Round 3 was a grudge match in the making. As the only 6-pointers my opponent Nathan(who I had never lost to) offered a draw that couldve seen us both still at the top of the event after the round. I opted to play and see what would happen. By the time I had 6 reorce on the table, Nathan had none left in his deck due to the Brokerage I didnt play . 3 dudes to 1 every turn was enough to lose my undefeated sealed record.

    2-1

My next opponent was Randall. Formerly of Mtg and VS, Randall knows his way around a tcg and in his first Spoils event was at 1-1-1.
My usual start of 'play resouce-go-end-of-turn-draw-card' for 4 turns let me slam the the big-guns every turn til the cows came home. Smaller men, less efficient tricks and no luck spelt my opponents doom as double Encumber secured a messy win in overtime.

    3-1

Playing the last round knowing that I needed to win and have 2 others lose is always daunting but after getting the nuts start against final opponent Danny(who has won 2 nintendo Wii's and much more) was enough to secure half a box of seed and top 8 promo resource among other stuff.

    Final Result 4-1

Props to Troy who drew the first round to charge to 4-0-1 and oust me by a point, Ben and Randall who came 5th and 6th respectively in their first ever tournament(Ben has only played 6 games of Spoils, 5 of which were today! ).

Til next time(being the 10k Australian Champs) happy gaming,

    Bomber.

    WCC = Winter Constructed Championships.

I understand the Winter aspect... but I'm assuming it was your Winter Limited Championships.

It was the Winter sealed championships with Bomber taking in a rare sealed loss.

We had 13 players for the event, including a few new players, and on the face of it everyone had a blast.

The top 8 resourses went down a treat, and Sydney Games Centre did a great job hosting the event

    Lots of fun
