Thread: "Arms Akimbo" deck

  1. Default "Arms Akimbo" deck

Here is the decklist that seems to run fairly well, however it seems inconsistent early game. Any help on tactics for play or extensive weaknesses would be appreciated.

Extra points for naming the reference to Arms Akimbo
    HINT: (its a villan name)

    Qty Name
    2 Deception
    4 Exploitation
    17 Greed
    4 Avuncular Merlion
4 Black Scourge of the Brine
    4 Flimflam Man
    4 Foolhardy Desperado
    4 Opportune Slotpuller
    4 Cashier's Window
    4 Department of Rejections
    4 Flailing Knife
    4 Lucky Charm
    4 Narrow Passage
    4 Rigged Tables
    4 Roulette Wheel of DOOM!
    4 Theocratic Senate of Marduun
    75 Lands: 23, Spells: 32, Crt: 20

Flailing knife doesnt seem to ever do any good but I cant seem to shake the fact it's useful :C
I was thinking about replacing it with Ostrich, which seems suprisingly useful.

I totally just realized 2 avuncular merlions +cashiers window = amazing
(yes I know highly unlikely to pull off: Still awesome)

I also now realize this should probably be under the competitive deck building forum :/
    sorry, tis late.

23 Resources is a bit much. Couldn't you run 13 Greed and 4 Explotation and give yourself room for 4 more cards? I haven't looked at your thresholds closely, but 17 resources in deck should be fine.

You posted this in the right forum.

I don't like Flailing Knife, but if it works for you, so be it. You seem to be running far too many resources with so few thresh requirements.

Also, to your bonus question who the hell actually watched Freakazoid?

    I watched Freakazoid... *sniffle*

Three things... if you're playing Theocratic Senate, where's Architectural Restitution? And Where's Walk the Plank? And Foolhardy Desperado is a bad card in general, but especially against what is arguably one of the two strongest trades in this set: Arcanist.

    Freakazoid = awesome!
architectural restitution... I think I may pull 4 resources and play these facedown when I cant use them. They seem to be solid
Walk the plank... I think I deemed this too expensive when I initially built the deck. Good idea. I think I can playtest a couple in place of narrow passage.

    as far as Foolhardy Desperado...
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one
it has won me a number of games with being cheap and covert and is superior for hitting hard late game, even compared to black scourge
