Thread: couple questions about playing

  1. Default couple questions about playing

So, I have a couple quick questions

on the first turn that you play.. at the very beginning of the game, is that when the draw or play a resource comes in to affect, or is that your second turn.

also, can you play tactics in the middle of attacking or right after your opponent declares attackers.. or will you have to set up your blockers wait for the first characters with the highest speed do their damage and then do the tactic stuff like it says in the rules.. or can you play it more like M:tG (sorry but I don't know how else to say it)

if that didn't make sense I can try to elaborate.. thanks

also, this might be a really stupid question.. but it is no where in the rules so I'm guessing you can.. can you play characters during your opponents turn?

To answer your questions one by one:

    1) Yes, since your first turn you have a "start of the turn", your Develop Rule on your Tournament Faction triggers.

    2) Read the section in the rules on "How to Resolve a Battle". There are multiple times during a battle where you can play tactics or use abilities on cards in play, but only during those specific times. Don't forget that you can always respond to anything your opponent does on their turn with tactics or abilities (again, though...there are specific times during a battle in which you can play tactics or use abilities; read the rules for those specifics).

    3) It is in the rules (read under the "Character" section). On your turn, you can do any of the following in any order you want and any number of times (unless otherwise specified): Play a card, attack, use an ability or end your turn (you may only end your turn once). On your opponent's turn, you may only respond to things they do with tactics or abilities.

    Hope this helps!

    "Look at banner, Michael!"
(robotic voice) "People think I'm smart because I talk in a robot voice."
"I now have the strength of a grown man and a little baby."
"One name? One name? Who are you, Seal?"
"She's had prime rib. Having you would be like having some...weird brother of prime rib."

In reference to #3, normally you can only play tactic cards on your opponents turn. I however like playing characters on my opponents turn sometimes...so there is a card for the Rogue trade called 'Late Addition' that allows this. Oh and 'Sudden Osprey' says it can be played anytime you could play a tactic.

Not to confuse, but you can play tactics on your turn and anytime you're allowed to respond during your opponents turn or during the appropriate setps of a battle.

If/when you have any future questions, the Q&A forum is the best place for them.

    Thanks,

Home at last!!!! Strangely enough though, I have even less time to myself than I did in Kuwait!
