Please don't post winning decklists or results until noon on Sunday Pacific Time
There are many Winter Qual's that start Sunday not Saturday, and I don't want to be playing a bunch of cloned internet decks.

Very reasonable request Dapuma.
Matt, Dawna, Ed...
Would you like to formally state if/when top decks should be posted for the WCC?
Home at last!!!! Strangely enough though, I have even less time to myself than I did in Kuwait!![]()
I thought you were joking DakotaOriginally Posted by Dapuma
Well u already know what my deck is and ur right cause if people clone my deck you lose. This is actually a very reasonable request and I think for tournements that are multi-day it should be enacted.

Good idea. Maybe it is just me but I feel that the internet is a good thing for people(like me) with a VERY small meta. Like, our first constructed tourny(atleast since I've been playing) is this Sunday and I am at such a large disadvantage that I do read up on what is doing well. It is not to clone . . . but to see the various percentages of cards work and don't work. If anyone would care to help me in my endevour to do well at the Winter tourny feel free to PM me ;P
I would like to suggest that tournament reports that don't provide decklists should be acceptable.
ROFL. This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read.Originally Posted by Dapuma

Ok. Some people don't like Dapuma's request. Could you please explain why you don't think people should hold back deck lists and tournament reports? Saying that you don't like it does not help. Dapuma has made it clear that he is afraid of people playing decks they find online. He wants to establish a social norm that over a weekend like the one we are about to have results from other tournaments should not affect the metagame in other areas.
Let's have a polite discussion about this topic.
As good as the request is there are some down sides. First up even if you know what deck won an event that doesn't mean you will have every card needed to build that deck. Even if people do take this request here there are many other websites out there where people can post and obtain information, so there is no 100% way around it. Also even with a cloned deck it takes a lot of skill and talent to play the deck to its fullest ability. If someone doesn't know how to run the deck they are playing they will not win as much. It is something slightly proven that if you hand a bad player the best deck in the game and a top tier player a second tier deck that the match up of those two will end up with the better playing winning about 80% of the time due to their ability to play a deck the way it needs to. Also even if the decks aren't copied for the next day they will more than likely be posted and just cloned for the next constructed event anyway, so in the long run it just prolongs the inevitable. Even if decklists get posted there will be a low likelihood that 2 decks would match 100% so there is not clear deck to copy. In each area there will be different decks with different strategies winning. If there are 5 completely different deck lists posted on Saturday which one would people copy? From my experience in any card game, unless there is a 100% sure fire deck that wins over 50% of every constructed event played then there will be no big deal with copiers. Also in any game there will be the "net deck" that people will try to copy there is no getting around it. Be it 1 day later or 2 weeks later it will happen. I personally will acknowledge this request, but I'm just putting my two cents out there that it will happen so don't be too upset if it does happen, which more than likely will.
I like keeping the current ((As in this weekend)) winners under wraps until Sunday, I think it forces people who haven't been trying to test have to build the haphazard way and take the problems with it.
