Thread: Erotic Assassination and Subversion Matrix question

Hybrid View

  1. Default Erotic Assassin and Subversion Matrix question

I have a question about the card rules, relating to the concept of card memory, which is obviously present in some form in The Spoils, and has been a sticky wicket for other card games.

    Situation 1:
I began the turn with an Erotic Assassin in play. I attack. I then pay to restore her. I attach Subversion Matrix. May she swing again?
(Obviously, Yes. She no longer has the rule that she may not attack more than once.)

    Situation 2:
I began the turn with an Erotic Assassin in play, with an attached Subversion Matrix. I attack. I move the Matrix using the Matrix's ability. I pay to restore her. May she swing again?
(This is my main question. Do the cards remember everything they've done? When does their recollection end?)

    Situation 3:
I began the turn with an Erotic Assassin in play, with an attached Subversion Matrix. I attack. I move the Matrix using the Matrix's ability. I pay to restore the Assassin. I move the Matrix back onto the Assassin using the Matrix's ability. May she swing again?
(Again, obviously yes, listed here for comparison against situation 2.)

    Thanks in advance.

yeah that is a pretty sick combo...that would work for sure -- mana intensive but as long as there are two creatures in play you can keep bouncing it

I'd rule that in situation 2 the character could not attack again as its ability is now active and it had attacked previously that turn.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

I would say situation 3 would indeed work however not situation 2. In 2 it says she may not attack if she already did. She did (it does not matter if the matrix is own her or not. In 3 there is nothing on her card preventing her from attacking again. I would say if you did indeed have the resources to undeplete her (3?) and attach to the matrix(2) and then attach to someone else (2) and then attach back to her(2) then you can do it, but if you have that many resources hopefully you can do more than that.

Once again, we agree and you have the superior phrasing XD.

Situations 1 and 3 are legal, Situation 2, you can't attack, regardless of wether it said "can only attack once per turn" when it attacked or not
