And you don't have to use your precious item hate on it. It's just an out that's supposed to be a really expensive way of getting rid of it, but that's always possible.

I like it, Lekkit. Would be a disgusting win condition in an Arcanist discard build though. But I guess it's still a lot more balanced than my first suggestions...

hmmm... for Lekkit's inversion maybe it should be just "pay whatever" wear as whatever is a number I'm uncertain of....

I think, you can give it another text:
(And make it interesting)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Gold Valley
3 [G][G][G]
Location
Structure 6
(Only Mau like it, because...)
This card enters play under your opponent´s control.
If you discard any number of cards because of cards or abilitys you used, your opponent´s factions gains X influence, where X is the number of your discarded cards.
HARD WORK
COST: Discard a card.
EFFECT: Inflict X damage to this card, where X is the numeric cost of the discarded card minus 1.
COLLECT YOUR CONSTRUCTION WASTE
COST: Use this only, if this Location minimum took one damage. Discard a card.
EFFECT: Change the target of an attacking party your opponent control to this card.
FlipUp - 3 [G][G][G][G][G]
(...there´s all they love: Smell of Fish, Smell of Gold and smell of another yellow things...)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
So I thought about this mechanic, because if you want to use Fired Hand or another things, where you have to discard cards (to use effects or something like that) your opponent can profit from it too.
So it is not to powerful I think.

Definitly not too strong in my opinion. I like it though.
