Thread: Question on "Guilded Youret"

No, the yurt that removes the character from the game is the one that returns it. Should that yurt be destroyed the character remains RFG for the rest of the game.

While it was mentioned previously in this thread that in response to a character being yurted your opponent may be capable of killing him or the yurt, in response to his response, if you have a second yurt, is to use the second yurt to attempt to save the character again. This can be repeated for however many yurts. He will re-enter play from the yurt used last should he be saved.

I think "if this card is in play" means that instance of gilded yurt and not any gilded yurt in play, so it would not bring him back. If the alternate case were true think of how weird it would be if in a banker fight both players have gilded yurt out. If that was the intention then the card could easily say "if any gilded yurts in play" or "if any gilded yurts in play under your control".

Now if gilded yurt was stolen by player B after player A used it to RFG a character then gilded yurt is still technically 'in play' and the character would come back into play for player A under player A's control?

    It's like this:

Player A uses Yurt to lift an Erotic Assassin out of combat.
Player B has Gus Van Baymaven in play.
    Now two things can happen:

Scenario A: Player B uses Gus Van Baymaven's ability IN RESPONSE to the Yurt's activation. In this scenario the Yurt is entering player B's control and then the Erotic Assassin leaves play but returns to player B at the start of his/her next turn.

Scenario B: Player B doesn't respond to the Yurt's activation. Instead, he/she uses Gus Van Baymaven's ability at a later stage in the game. The Yurt switches to Player B's side. During the start of Player A's next turn, the Erotic Assassin is returned to him, not Player B.

For more fun and profit, use Mutiny Grant to steal one of your opponent's characters, then use Gilded Yurt to remove it from the game. When the character comes back next turn, it's yours to keep!

Why is that? Removing a character from the game doesn't mean it can ignore the effect from Mutiny Grant as far as I can see?
The only way i can follow your logic if is you view the effect of a Mutiny Grant as a trigger that happens at the end of the turn, but the card doesn't say that, so couldn't you just a well argue that control should be handed back to the other player "as soon as possible"? Which would be after the Yurt put the character back in play.

Then again, I'm still new to the game and is still trying to get my head around all these ability responses and trigger effects.

When a card changes zones (in this case in play to removed from play), any effects that were affecting it in the previous zone lose track of it. This means that the Mutiny Grant's effect "falls off" the chosen character when it is Yurt-ed.

Thanks and found it in the rules. For future reference, check "Glossary of Terms: Game Area" in the basic rules.
