All cards as instants?

Played my first game tonight, good times and lots of fun, I was playing the warlord deck and stumbled across an interesting little conundrum. Bloodcurdling Booldozer, it lets you deplete a character when it comes into play. Now I realize that I would not be able to drop him in during combat as he is neither a tactic nor an ability, but could I play him during my opponent's turn in response to him declaring that he is going to attack?

1) You can only play tactics and abilities when you respond to your opponent.
2) Bulldozer's effect happens when he attacks.

*hangs his head in the shame of poor reading light* thanks for clearing that up for me, in reading the rules and everything I thought I remember either reading or someone saying that everythin could be played as an instant, and I thought instant like M:TG. thanks again

No, card speed is actually alot slower in this game than in magic.You can't play it at any time forcing you to choose when and what to respond to tactfully.

You're right in saying it is slower, but it feels fast I guess for some reason. And as an absolute sidenote, love the signature GWN.

The speed you play stuff at is slower, the game it self is much faster paced.
