Louisiana Spoils?

I actually found some Spoils First Edition on sale at Troll and Toad at a discounted price. I am only familiar with First edition and it just so happened to be all that they had so I picked them up, not sure if they will re-order new stuff seeing as they did not have any of the other "sets"...I actually want to get some cards from the other "sets" so which ones are considered the best buy? Seed 1, 2, or 3? I don't mind if some pros and cons for each set are thrown in as well...a little knowledge never hurts.

Side question, is there a sight like Gatherer or MagicCardsInfo for The Spoils?
