Rescuing the Spoils #12: Stirring the Pot

A new year has just begun and, as customs bid, we here at The Spoils have made some New Year’s resolutions! As with all New Year’s resolutions, they will be made in high spirits and in no way based on past experience. ![]()
Shade of the Devoured Emperor is at the printer and we have seen the first batch of samples, and they look good. There were some definite hiccups, so we are now waiting for the second round of samples. Then, hopefully, we can press the big green GO-button. With this said, Shade will see the light of day within a fair amount of time.
With Shade at the printers, we are at work with the next set in the Unlikely Heroes block: Holy Heist. Playtesters have been working with this set for quite a while, and at the beginning of this year the artists have also started up. There is already some absolutely fantastic artwork ready to go!
But of course, there isn’t much promise in the above, so let’s see….. what goals would I like to set for The Spoils in 2013?
I want to see at least two new sets come out, and press hard to increase that to three sets. I want to make new pre-constructed decks to attract new players, make a new Two Player Starter Kit, do a movie starring Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton, work on making a special five player box set, create our very own Formula-1 racing team, do a comic books series, paint the moon Arcanist purple, and host a lot of great events.
Well, I probably got a little carried away here, but who said you cannot aim high for your New Year’s resolutions?
But even if not all of the above dreams come true, we are still looking at a very great year for The Spoils, one that I feel will give us the wings we need to really take off. So now it is just up to myself and the rest of the hardworking Spoils gang to do whatever we can to make fantasies become realities! We hope you will want to live the dream with us!
