Ian Spiegel – Blum here with my first blarg update regarding both the Ambassador Program and my new role as Director of Organized Play. Since the Ambassador Program’s resurgence this summer, we’ve accepted over fifty Ambassadors! With their help, Arcane Tinman has supported over ten events with more scheduled for the near future.
Many of my New Years resolutions this year are Spoils related, and I thought I’d share a few of them with you. One of my goals for the coming months is to keep an updated list, by region, of ambassadors and upcoming events for interested participants on the website.
Please accept our sincere apologies if you’ve experienced delays in promo shipments in December. As we complete our transition behind the scenes, my goal is to eliminate delays of this nature. Our transition period is almost complete and you will be receiving your January packages shortly.
The past few years have been tumultuous for The Spoils, but I can assure you we’re coming in to steady waters. Shade of the Devoured Emperor is amazing. The set after is nearing completion, and our dedicated base of play-testers are hard at work rounding out the block. I am personally going to continue designing new and innovative Organized Play opportunities, many of which I will be announcing in the coming weeks.
Another resolution is to keep The Spoils fresh from an Organized Play perspective. Today I’d like to announce the first new Organized Play initiative.
For the first time in The Spoils history, you will have a regular opportunity to win a highly sought after pewter Micromajig token.
Stores currently signed up for Afternoon Saturday Spoils will be allowed to request being added to the Revolution list. At absolutely no additional cost, one Micromajig will be shipped with the promo card package to be won in a special tournament called a Revolution Event. These events will have special formats predetermined with the expressed goal of creating a new and exciting way to play with a cool prize. The winner will have the option of choosing the Micromajig or the regular promo card. Other than the format, the event is run like any other Spoils tournament.
I will be sending these little guys out with January’s promos with an insert detailing the new events. I suggest hosting the Revolution event at the end of the month, but do whatever works best for your store and players.
January’s format is:
That’s right! Time to bust out those Seed 3 packs and play some multi-player. Give the new format a whirl and earn yourself a Micromajig and some cred as the first Revolution Champion.
All right, that’s enough of a taste for now. Keep checking back as we’ve got exciting announcements planned for the rest of the year and will drop them soon enough.
Happy New Year and Viva La Spoils!
