Organizing Organized Play #10: The Future of OP

by Will Clark, Director of Organized Play (kinda)
Today’s Blarg contains both good news and sad news. Let’s start with the good news.
The good news is that I recently received all of the apparel that I ordered for both the Fall and Winter Championships. All of the clothing, including t-shirts, hoodies, and beanies, came out amazing. Players can even expect a Spoils flavored Santa hat in their prize kits for the Winter Championship.
As always, these prize kits will be mailed out to stores who ordered them soon, and some stores may have received their kits already.
With the completion of these prize kits, though, comes the sad news. As of December 1st (this Saturday), I will no longer be the Director of Organized Play for The Spoils. To put it simply, I have been far too busy with graduate school as of late to fully commit to The Spoils, and my work with The Spoils has prevented me from fully committing to grad school.
As such, I am leaving my position to dedicate myself to my school work full time. I will still be an active member of the community, though, so I am definitely not going away forever.
With this sad news, though, comes more good news! Taking over my job as Director of Organized Play will be Ian Spiegel-Blum, the head of the Ambassador Program. I am not going to spoil anything Ian has in store for the program, though, so be sure to check back next month when he writes his first Blarg.
Although I am sad to be going, I have to say….
So long, and thanks for all the Micromajigs!
