It’s… The Spoils™ Web Blarg!

It’s that time of year when everything looks a little brighter. Summer is still hanging in the air, you feel a little extra rested and in good shape, and everybody seems to be smiling a little bit more than usual. Thankfully, the same goes for The Spoils. Things are looking really good for the coming year.

In the near future we have Shade of the Devoured Emperor, whichis close to being ready for the printers (all that is missing is a few final touches and the final design of the packaging), and we are advancing fast on the next set in the “Unlikely Heroes” block. The set, codenamed “Be” and set-name abbreviated to “HH,” will see art production start up within the next few weeks. Then, on the horizon, we of course have the third set in the block, but this is still off the record, on the QT and very, very hush hush. So for now, all the information that is out there is that it is codenamed “Quiet” and that it IS in the making!

Gen Con is right around the corner and there will be lots of good events happening each day. This year all of our activity will be centered around the gaming area, where we will also be having our booth in connection with the headquarter there. Amongst other things there will be the mandatory booze drafts, pick-up drafts throughout all days, and of course the National Championships. I’m really looking forward to seeing what impact Seed 3 has had on the metagame.

In other news, we are running a cross-promotion with Dragon Shield, where all boxes of sleeves now carry an ad for The Spoils on the backside. This ad is complete with a link to a demo page www.thespoils.com/demo, where new players can download printable decks so they may immediately try out the greatest game on the planet. If you haven’t already done so then be sure to share this link everywhere – put it on your facebook page, in your email signatures, on any forum you visit, anywhere you can think of, help spread the happy word!

Lots of visitors have already been past the demo pages. Of course having people print out the cards and test the game is one thing; getting them to stick with the game and go to their local card shop and ask them to take home product is an entirely different matter. This is why I am also very happy that we have recently signed on Ian Spiegel-Blum again, this time to help us revitalize ye olde Ambassador program.
