I got an email the other day from one of our retailers stating that it “seems like this is going to be an exciting year for The Spoils!”
I then smiled to myself, thinking “Hmm… I do believe this guy is right!”
There are lots of things going on behind the scenes, and much that I would want to share with you all – but we continue to stick with the basic premise of trying not to promise anything that we cannot deliver. Unfortunately, that means not sharing information before we are certain things are going to happen. But there are indeed a lot of exciting things about to happen!
Seed 3 is right around the corner. In fact, the first lot landed in our European warehouse just yesterday, which was a great thrill. However, we still haven’t gotten the final details regarding the boat shipment from Cartamundi to the U.S. and, before we have the exact details, we cannot set a firm release date.
The next set after Seed 3, “SotDE,” is also close to being done. R&D is on its last polish regarding the rules side of the cards (I will leave it to Ken to share some more insight regarding this in his next blarg) and we should be able to finish up on the artwork within the month of May, preferably within the next two weeks. With that in mind, the set to follow Seed 3 is looking good as well.
The final thing I want to share with you this time around is that we are preparing our second round of pushing The Spoils into the hands of unsuspecting n00bs from all those other card games, namely all the people using Dragon Shield sleeves. From now on, ALL Dragon Shield sleeve boxes will have a small ad for The Spoils on the back with a link to a demo area on our website. At the demo site, people will be able to download decks to print out so they may take the game out for a test spin without having to buy cards. We hope this will mean a lot of new awareness for The Spoils and that it will give all of you out there both an easy talking point and a good way to ease new players into our ranks!
