Today we were in a town called
The store was everything that a game store should be: warm, welcoming, comfortable. We settled right in and even met Grandma! The store had its retail area in the front, then, through a door, sat the play area. You could tell by watching the faces that everyone knew everyone else’s name and that all of the people came here to hang out. Even the owner’s daughter was a gamer (and a future Spoiler if she keeps at it!).
The tournament was a lot of fun because everyone was relaxed and there to have a good time, not necessarily win. The store carried beautiful stationary that was decorated with art drawn by one of the owners. We bought some of the stationary and Mark (the artist) gave us signed posters of some of his artwork.

The movie was better than we all thought it would be and we didn’t have any popcorn fights until the very end. By the time that we returned to the hotel, it was getting late. Rachael called it a night, but the rest of us stayed up drafting and doing laundry. Shhh… we’ll let you in on a secret… we were drafting “a different card game”, but we discovered it was immensely more enjoyable if we used the Spoils rules. That just proves that even other games are more fun with the Spoils game play.
