Forex 61i7ch
2 [G][G][G][G]
Tactic
COST: Pay X. Destroy X resources you control.
EFFECT: Search your deck for X resources. You may play them. If you don't, put them into your hand. (You still need the proper resource icons and must pay any additional costs.)
"We can hack the system and fix the market!"
This can trigger crests and also fix thresh issues if you are multi-faction. It also thins your deck of resources.

If it's going to be a Tactic with such an ability, I believe it would be easier read like this:

Tactic
COST: Pay X. Destroy X resources you control.
EFFECT: Search your deck for X resources. You may play them. If you don't, put them into your hand. (You still need the proper resource icons and must pay any additional costs.)

Fair enough :-)
However, I did want the resources to be PLAYED... not PUT into play..
forcing them to be PLAYED means you still have to meet any requirements and costs that future resources may have.

Updated it. Maybe that's better? If you don't have the option of getting to put the cards into your hand then you run into problems in the future if there end up being resources that have costs. (Say the player searches for 3 and can't afford the costs for anything but 2)

Dig it! I like that wording better. Thanks!

Putting this out there, this card seems like 2 cost to meet your threshold for the rest of the game. You could feasibly replace every single resource you control.
I can't decide if this is overpowered or not. Maybe put a cap on the number of resources? Like make the tactic cost 5, but eliminate the X part and you can only replace up to 3. I'm not sure if that would completely nerf it though.

it seems much more like a banker card than a gearsmith card in my opinion

Agreed. I can't remember where I read it, but I've seen something where they said in future Gearsmith would only be able to accelerate generic resources and Elitism, not find other resources. (Hence, Research Investment won't be reprinted in Second Edition.)

Edited it so that it can only get staple resources. This lowered the thresh requirement too.. but now its still good for Elitist

By generic resources, I mean 31f style cost reductions and stuff like Brilliant Insight. Gearsmith isn't supposed to be able to search for non-Elitism resources. If I get time tomorrow, I'll track down the reference. Might have been in the Covenant podcast interview. Acceleration only, not fixing.
