Usually goes the saying but I don't think that is the case for new games. We are now a week till August which is suppose to be the launch of Open Beta, but I feel we still know very little. I know I am suppose to be patience, but I don't want to. Something about tournies would be nice. Or a few more cards to play around with if not the set list. Information in Inquest, Scyre or any where. Okay I have finished my rant I now return you to your regular posts.

Most likely: They're busy.

Least likely: They're dead.

Make your guess...

Something in between that could be as bad as them being dead. They don't know. Or something worse, they are lazy. I am hoping for they are busy cranking out the game.

(steps onto soap box)

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have been involved with 2 other companies running tournaments/demos/judging. In both instances, announcements for release dates had been made, passed, re-set, passed again, then finally realized. On one occasion, the first printing of cards was lost in a tsunami in India. On another, the warehouse staff was so short, the product didn't leave until 10 days after promised. A third time the distributors didn't come through as they had promised delaying arrival of product to retailers.
What I'm saying is, not all things are within Tenacious Games' control.
Be eager for the game. Be excited to be involved with a new game at its inception (especially one this promising). Feel free to voice your opinions and give feedback. When it is constructive, it can only help the game. When it is destructive (not saying that anything has been) it helps no one.

The Spoils will be here soon. Open Beta games will be here soon. We'll all be getting a free pack of cards soon.

Isn't this all worth the wait?

Thank you for your attention.
(steps down)

Sincerely,
doc

How does this help teach/promote the game? Not being negative, just wondering out loud...

GenCon (August 9th) will be the start of the majority of Open Beta events. However, we are starting to get cards out to our Premium Tournament Organizers (TOs). Some of them will run The Spoils Open Beta events or demos the weekend of August 5th during other card game events. If you’re going to be attending other game events that weekend, you may see The Spoils there. Check out the website or contact your local Premium TO to find out for sure. If you’re not sure who that is, your local Premium TO is the person who runs major card game events in your area. For smaller events, contact your local retailer. :chomp:

The promise of free stuff got my local store owner interested in carrying the game if that answers your question.

Good so I am assuming that people are going to be cool about this and post all the cards they open so we can put a full spoiler together by Gen Con. Or maybe the full spoiler will release on the 5th? Either way I am really looking forward to GEn COn....2 weeks from now (this moment actually :) )and i'll be at the table busting Spoils packs. GL to all who are playing on the 5th.
