Over the past many months we have been working behind the scenes in building a portal where players will have access to all of their player data including personal information, tournaments, wins & losses, rating and ranking.

At least until some new tourney data starts getting entered.
I'd better enjoy it while it lasts :)

The player portal times out every time I try to go there.
Is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks Jedi. :)
Hmmm...I don't seem to be in there yet. Also, I never received the confirmation e-mail with the password.
Thankfully, I actually still have my old TG membership card. :D
By the way everyone. If you are NOT in the player portal, then send an e-mail to playerportal(at)thespoils(dot)com
Provide them with the following information: Full name, Address (Street, City, Zip-code, State, Country, Contact Email-address). I also included my forum name and STE number as well. It doesn't hurt to provide too much info...
That should get it fixed up for you. :)

Michael,
I have a spreadsheet with all the players in my region with names, pertinent information, and STE numbers. To whom should I send this spreadsheet so we can get it uploaded into the database?

Send the following info:
STP-number
Email-address
Physical address (street, zip, town, state, country)
To:
STPnumber@gmail.com
(this is an address created solely for the purpose of data entry - once the data collection is over, this will no longer be functioning)

Is that the official e-mail address to use? The announcement says "STPnumber (at) gmail (dot) com" and the player portal site says "playerportal@thespoils.com"
I'm assuming the e-mail you've supplied is correct so it might be worthwhile to remove/modify the misinformation in the other locations...

Based on the information I have the current temporary email is
STPnumber@gmail.com
I could be mistaken but I know that will allow you to send info to.

The correct address to send to is indeed STPnumber@gmail.com.
Sorry about the confusion - don't know where my head was on that one

Is there a better way to receive STP numbers rather then collecting and submitting all that contact information for each individual?
I currently have 37 players registered in my tournament software and none of them have real STP numbers. I would like to get them all numbers so I can import and export results and it sounds like it's going to be a long and difficult process to collect information from them when they show up for an event and have to email it and wait for an STP number.
I have no problem collecting the info and sending it in for your records but it seems better if I can get a block of numbers and send in the contact info as I receive it.

Once we are past this initial collecting of data, then it will be possible to apply for becoming a "Tournament Organizer".
As a TO you will be able to get new STP-numbers online through the Player Portal. And as a TO you would then subsequently enter in the data for those same STP-numbers. So there will no lag as your players would be in the system as soon as you have taken care of it.
If you are in a place where you can be online, you can in fact register people directly into the system right there at the tournament.
You would still have to print out a form for them to fill out and sign; for our bureaucracy and to give them an STP-slip.
But we imagine it will be 3-4 weeks before we close up on this initial data collection and we open up for the above option.

What do we do if the online info is incorrect. My number is 000-001-2399, but someone else is listed with that number. I'm not sure I have my card any more, but that's the number I have in tournament reports.

It seems that someone back in the days got the not-so-bright idea of just making photocopies of STP-slips meaning that multiple players got the same STP-number. And this is part of the reason we have to go through this data collection and correction exercise.
Since we will not incorporating any of the old tournaments there will not be any problems with more players sharing STP-numbers. And in the case where someone shares an STP-number with someone already registered online, then the player not registered online yet would need to get a new number.
In 3-4 weeks it will be possible to apply to become a Tournament Organizer - and once this happens you can get a new number through this.
I imagine that you will probably want to apply to become a TO yourself, Jeremy, so it should be an easy fix for you :)
I apologize to anybody that were happy with their old STP-number that end up losing it because of the above photocopying stunt. Unfortunately that is way beyond our control, as it was done long before we took over, so I hope everybody will be understanding towards our solution.
Thanks
Michael

Is the STP-number the same as your old Tenacious Membership Card number? Or am I missing something?

wouldn't it just be easier to start from scratch on an entirly new system. It's not like old points mean anything now anyway.

I'm all set up as a TO but I don't seem to have TO privileges.
