---------------------------------------------
General Manager
Common
1 G
He manages generally
2/1/3
Banker - Manager
Generally Manage
COST - Discard a card.
EFFECT-Place this card face down as a resource, and attach it to your faction. (It is a face down resource)
Flip Up - 1 G
... and generally manages
----------------------------------------
A small, cheap creature that can be flipped down and up, need that extra resource? Or would you much rather have that small creature?

wow Interesting ... im blown away at the prospect of a new contender for hardest creature to kill (currently held by pogo bear)

Really elegant/awesome concept. :)
My only source of apprehension is that the cost to play it might be a touch low as it effectively allows you to play a face down resource for 1. I think upping its casting cost a bit, or making it enter play depleted, would help to streamline the concept by removing this potential abuse. (Not that I think it should be completely discouraged, just that it seems almost too good at it currently.) Overall though a very cool idea in my book.

actually it cost 4 for it since the card in your hand will cost 3 to replace... granted it is sill 3 less then a normal resource, but it comes at a price as it is face down.
if it cost any more it would lose its usefulness

Please change this card's ability as follows:
Generally Manage
COST - Discard a card.
EFFECT-Place this card face down as a resource, and attach it to your faction.
If the card flipped down for the cost of a card, this could be built around as a benefit.

I think my largest worry with this is that as gear works currently can't this be dropped, double equipped and then depleted to let you start your second turn with six resources open which seems to be a bit much. Lioge's suggestion would help to mitigate this with a more apt flip down cost, but its still something of a worry to me... ^^"
Also, am I just confused or wasn't this an arcanist card when it was originally posted?

@Lionge: Ah, that makes more sense, actually. I wasn't too sure what kind of cost I should do in order to flip him down, and the cost of a card is better then just a depletion of the original, when it would just be thrown into the resource pile... Though, It could also be that, since you deplete this card to make it a resource, it becomes a depleted resource, meaning it doesn't give you a resource until next turn. Either way I'd have to change the wording.
@ Mango: I edited it, it was in the banker section because I was thinking it's a banker, but for some reason (probably in my newbyness) I decided to use "O" instead of "G," though the card could work for either, i find that the ability to be a resource is more of a banker thing then an Arcanist thing
EDIT! Went with Lionge's idea. I thought only a small bit on making it a depleted resource, but it making it a card sac for a ready resource gives you opportunities to play tactics on enemies turns, instead of just giving you a spare resource you can't do much with until your turn.

You hit the nail on the head. I'm all about the use of the equipment as a face down resource as well. I actually thought of exactly that point when I considered my suggestion.
Honestly, let's take a loot at the math here and see how we could abuse this horribly wrong.
The player draws a card turn one. The General Manager comes into play. He gets 4 Auspicious Tax and 3 Smear Campaign's attached. Then you discard a Karmic Cake to turn him face down.
Worst case scenario here and the player is now sitting at 10 resources and no hand turn one.
How far ahead is this player in the optimal situation?
What about non-optimal? This player still has up to 4 Smear Campaigns and 4 Auspicous Taxes in the deck and a General Manager with little to no equipment on it.
What about the well timed Scrag that hits the General Manager in response to the ability to turn him face down? Once you've discarded a card to pay for the ability the General Manager is eligible to be hit with a Scrag, Essence of Rage, Pinch, Extravagant Contusion, Exploding Sock Puppet!, Inhibit, Mass Confusion, Overindulge, Quotidian Assassination, Quotidian Disappearance (in response to the first item being played), Scorching Runicution, Skewer, Subsection 5, Paragraph 12, Target Practice, or Mutiny Grant.
Whew! That's a lot of tactics in current production that can be played turn 0 to kill this guy.

Wow, and here I thought this was a fairly straightforward card... I mean, it IS, but even so, it's gotten fairly complicated for such a simple card =P, I'm wondering if I should make him uncommon, as it seems that common might do him too little justice (and you'd be seeing them in every deck.)
I do have to give some credit to Mango, actually, I saw his tactic card "Buyout" and thought "Well, why not do that, only for the players side? give them a resource and a creature." Didn't think it would be such a good card =P.
Also, question, if a creature is turned face down with equipment cards attached to it, do those equipment cards get turned face down too?

Also, question, if a creature is turned face down with equipment cards attached to it, do those equipment cards get turned face down too?Yes, equipment goes wherever the attached creature goes in The Spoils; if the creature gets destroyed it goes to the discard pile, bounced it goes right back to hand, so if it gets turned into a resource they would also become face down resources (unless a rules provision was made to do otherwise, which hopefully wouldn't happen.) Though I'm not sure if they would be forced to attach to your faction (they might just become face down unattached/usable resources.)
And glad to hear that I returned the inspiration favor, tis a sign of a good design community in my book. :)
