The idea behind this is to make sure that a powerful gear cannot be tossed around. Any gears would have a stick trigger which would say if this card would become detached from a character instead destroy this card and the character.

Bounce on the gear would result in the death of the character because it would be like pulling the skin off of it.

These would be very powerful, and most likely unique gears that grant extreme abilities or stats.

For instance:

Jewel Encrusted Megaphone
3GGGG
ITEM - GEAR
When attached character attacks, draw X cards, where X is the number of characters in the attacking party.

STICKY
If this card would become detached from a character instead destroy this card and the character.

I like the idea a lot, and particularly like that card. It may be a bit undercosted, though.

thats the idea of making it sticky----so that it can be a bit undercosted.....if i am reading the thread right.....

Sticky isn't a straight disadvantage, though. Not to mention the fact that even if it is purely a disadvantage, this effect is very powerful. Once the jeweled megaphone is in play, your opponent cannot respond before you can use its trigger.

So then it would become a high thresh draw spell while opening up your field to things like pettifogger and still making the char open to death by bounce, kill tactics, and now item destruction. It still seams fairly balanced to me.

The fact that the gear is sticky makes the character more open than it was before, but for a good trade off. Hopefully the disadvantage wouldn't be so cut and dry, or else it would be hard pressed to see play in constructed.

I would imagine that all of them would have a high thresh, most likely 4 or greater, as another way to ensure that the power of the cards doesn't come out so fast it stops interaction and that it keeps a splash trade from having access to them.
