So I am very new to the game and have never played anyone yet. I went to the local hobby shop and offered them $30 for the unopened Booster box, and they did it. I am not really sure howto or even get on the right track of building my first deck. What I have is a tourny pack and a whole booster box.
So were to now? Could someone please point me in the right direction?

It depends on what you want your first deck to do. If you...
...want to smash/crash/trash, play huge guys and destroy everything in the play area, stick with Warlord.
...want to maximize draws, play with influence, dislike tokens, Banker's your best bet.
...enjoy bounce, tactics galore, tons of covert, and token-adding, Arcanist will suit you.
...anti-covert, fun removal, toys, and gibberish, go with Gearsmith
...don't mind a little bit of Arcanist's covert and +tokens, but also enjoy speed tricks, flushing out your opponent's deck, and stealing everything from their discard pile, Rogue's got what you want.
Then, go buy matching pre-con(s) and have at it!
(PS maybe another tourney pack would help, so you can have enough resources for at least a 2-trade deck)
I probably missed a few other trade features.

Wow, thanks for the pointers. I think I will get another tourny pack. There is hardly any items left on the shelf at the hobby store. So I might just get everything there.
Also, what is a good amount of resources to have in a 75-card deck?
Thanks a bunch

what is a good amount of resources to have in a 75-card deck?
This is the most commonly asked question that doesn't have an answer. :)
The right number of resources is the number it takes to meet threshold by the time you want threshold for every card in your deck.
Example:
I have a mono Warlord deck that uses only cards with 2 threshold. So the 2 I start with in play are the only 2 in the deck. Every other resource I play is a face down.
If you're running dual trade where one trade only uses 1 thresh cards, start with that one in play and decide at what point in the game do you need threshold for the rest of your deck, then practice mulliganing and drawing until you've got the right nubmer.
If you're running 2 trades that each have some cards that are 3+ threshold and you want to use those cards in the early game, you'll need more resources so that you'll have them out early by way of playing one each turn and going so far as to pay 4 to get extras in play.
So the bottom line on the number of resources you need in a deck is-
It all depends. :D
