I have been thinking about this deck for a little while, but it is against my preffered style of play,so I haven't built it until just this week. I wanted to drop a surprise monstrous character, that can win with a single attack. Schproingmajig's work well, but are for unoriginal follower's. I wanted something as devastating as the Schproing, but wasn't a Schproing. Something that will take people by surprise. It won't be a surprise now!
The objective of this deck its to build a monstrous character and annihilate your opponent in a single strike. It is plausible to win with a single attack on your third turn, but will require a strong mulligan strategy, and luck. Hence the name of the deck "Lucky Strike"
I have only play-tested against a couple people. I have won a couple times with it, in it's past state, but reconfigured it with some character control and an insurance policy, to help increase those odds. When you do win with it, it is a single unexpected blow that will take your opponent by surprise.
The deck:
Faction:
1x The Tournament Faction
Resources:
2x - Deception (start)
9x - Obsession
Characters:
4x Thief Doyan (r)
4x Ferrous Ferret (r)
4x Sneaky Mansion (a)
4x Dragon Tank (w)
4x Insidious Ecto-Manipulator (a)
4x Skimping Ecto-Manipulator (a)
4x Servile Centipede (a)
Tactics:
4x Late Addition (r)
4x Air Travel (a)
4x Early Retirement (r)
4x Rapine (r)
4x Impeccable Timing
4x Obsessive Compulsion
4x Quotidian Assassination
4x Quotidian Disappearance
Items:
4x Ectological Hazard Suit
Objective:
Ultimate cards to have in your hand (mulligan like hell, or use your skills in luck to get these into your first hand) :
2x obsession
1x Thief Doyan
1x Dragon Tank or Sneaky Mansion
1x Hazard Suit
1x Late Addition
1x Air Travel
1x any of the characters you can play on turn 1maybe a centipede, so you can get an Early Retirement, as an insurance policy.
3 Turn Win:
turn 1, play an obsession.
turn 2, play an obsession, and a Thief Doyan, sacrificing a Sneaky Mansion or a Dragon Tank. Doyan goes into play w/12 tokens on him. He gets 1 str/life for each token on him, which makes him a 12/12/3.
turn 3, play a face down resource. Put an Ectological Hazard Suit on your Doyan. A token gets added to the character when you play it, and gives +1 str/life for eack token on the character. Doyan now has 13 tokens on him and gets +2 str/life for each. He is a 26/26/3 character. Use Air Travel if you have to, to turn the beast covert and attack. If it goes through, game is over.
Ideally, if you can get your ducks in a row, drop your Doyan using Late Addition, in response to the end of your opponents turn and after they spent their resources. When your turn starts drop the suit on him and have at it. The danger here is if you are playing someone with Rogue cards who can steal your Doyan, like Rapine, or Forced Recruitment. If anyone tries something sneaky with your Doyan, use your Early Retirement to kill him, and draw 26 cards. You ought to have enough cards in your hand to drop a couple more beasts like the original now.
You can easily start beefing up your ferret too. He grows quick, and adding a suit to him will turn him big in no time. Voidal Perversion is great for adding tokens to the Ferret. He works as a little protection for your Doyan too, if you attack with them in a party, or your opponent plays any tactics/abilities against your big guy. The ferret can easily screw YOU over too, so be careful when you drop him.
Enjoy,
Johnny
