What is considered inflicting damage? If a card such as Murderous Commander or Sadistic Colonel has an ability that deals damage to the faction, would a Smear equipped to either one of them cause the damage from the ability to be inflicted to both factions?

In addition, though I believe this has been answered already, the damage from Smear Campaign is dealt after the initial damage, correct?

This type of question also applies to interactions such as Hidden Sniper and Poisoned Blade.

If a character has Deathmurderbludgeon, the craghammer attached to him, your opponet attaches a smear campaign, and then you attack unblocked allowing you to do two damage to one of their characters does that trigger Smear Campaign? I guess my question is, does the damage come from the Craghammer or the character?

This has been asked elsewhere in regards to a character with Poisoned Blade & Dethmurderbludgeon attached and we're awaiting an answer.

Basically, any time a card says, "Inflict X damage to something," it is that card that is considered to be inflicting the damage. So, Poisoned Blade on a Hidden Sniper works, but it is the Craghammer inflicting the damage to a character if the guy weilding it inflicts damage to a faction.
