Just like the title says... What is everybody's new favorite removal tactic? I know that everybody has seen the cards and been drooling over that new tactic for their revamped or new deck. So I was just curious as to what people are thinking. I will go first: Anesthetizing Opulence. I know that many of you are going to argue that your opponent gets to draw a card, but for an outright kill condition... I love this card more than bribe. I just may have to start working on some Banker decks to fill the need to play this card.

Exploding Sock Puppet is the best. Its a sock, a puppet, and it explodes. Stops a potentially game changing ability and axes a creature. Good stuff. Also, it is the best to say "Uh...Exploding Sock Puppet for the win."

I would have to go against Sock Puppet. I've seen it sit in my hand unusable too many times already. It's a nice thing to tutor/fish for when needed but I wouldn't probably put more than 1-2 in my deck.
As for real removal?
Item = Blow Up
Creature = Runic Cannon still though Pinch might be a close second
Multi-Creature = Shriever Attack still
All creatures = Torrential Bleeder and Poisoned Blade

I know it seems bad... but Quotidian Disappearance is pretty awesome. It's pretty helpful for an early game 633fy 31f.

What about Anesthetizing Opulence?
I have yet to get it in a limited pool, but it seems pretty good. It gets rid of any character for the added cost of your opponent drawing a card. Compare it to Irresistible Bribe: both get rid of anything, but for something you are really concerned about, you opponent will probably be gaining 4+ life; one additional cost for Opulence. Bribe is probably better due to versatility, but I think Opulence is pretty solid in limited.
I agree with Shawn on the Sock Puppet. You never notice how few characters have abilities until Sock Puppet is sitting in your hand for 6 rounds. Though it is a great Schproingmajig killer.

Exploding sock puppet is pretty cool, but I hate holding it for so long... TG needs to make more characters with activated abilities and stop with these triggering effects.... totally ruins saying, "I have a response.... Exploding sock puppet!"

Egads man, THE BLADE THE BLADE. it kills all creatures, even the stupid sproing everyone is worried about. here comes the poisoned sniper, better run and hide... okay i got nothing, but seriously, a sniper with a poisoned blade effs your day up

until you use one of the billion other cards that simply kills him even in response to the precious blade

You know what stops a poisoned sniper? An exploding sock puppet! Oh, yeah!

i never said it was the end all be all removal, but its my favorite. just the blade itself is my favorite, though not a tactic, so i guess i should've posted else where....

No offense. Just proclaiming my love for conditional spot removal.;)

Impeccable timing. It takes out 3/4 of all creatures in constructed, and most in limited, too, with good efficiency and no real drawback.

At the same time, Micromajig Shipping Container isn't a destruction tactic. My favorite new destruction tactic would have to be Explosive Fury. I love seeing that thing in my Sealed pack. If you use it on a character that's going to die anyhow, and have that character trading with an opposing one, you can kill two characters. Admittedly, you're using two cards, but your character was going to die eventually anyhow, if you're playing the card right.

I dont know that it is my fav, but I feel that suicide squad is good enough that it merits mentioning. He can often trade for two of your opponets smaller charcters or one large one. Plus, he can be an offensive threat.

I actually really like Suicide Squad as well. Board presence doubling as 3 for 4 ( with the potential to go higher with attack bumps )
The new Banker tactic? Eh, I think it depends really. In an aggro banker deck ( or banker splash ) I'd take it any day over Bribe. But in a control deck? Definitely the endurance over the extra card. I dunno. I guess it depends on the card, both drawbacks kinda stink :P

I like the Exploding Sock Puppet. Really good card, but using it isn't as easy as it sounds. Its sat in my hand a few times too ^_^ But once you use it, its really effective. Oh and Rapine and Scrag are cool too :)
