Just wondering if someone from :chomp: would like to comment on their policy concerning using Part 2 cards in constructed events, etc., etc.
Thanks!

I'm not a representative from :chomp: or anything but I would assume the policy to use the cards they printed would be something along the lines of:
-"Use our cards."

I think he was looking for more along the lines of "When will Part 2 be legal for sanctioned, constructed tournaments and IQ's?" Most game companies give a 2-3 week lag time for the information to be digested by the players (as well as allow time for the crds to be made readily available to all) before making the set a part of the legal card pool, so it would be interesting to see if the cards will be legal immediately upon release or if we will have a 2-3 week window.

Considering that Tenacious has decided to make the full spoiler list available a week prior to the release, I'm assuming they're going to say that Pt II is going to be tournament-legal soon as people can get their hands on it. If they were planning on giving a lag after they released the set, why would they make it available before release?

the reason for the availability of a spoiler before the release has nothing to do with constructed. They are doing that so that everyone is on an even keel going into the Invitational/Pre-release. I can't imagine their policy as as soon as a set is released, it is legal. A 1-3 week lag is important so that everyone can actually get their hands on the cards to be able to play them. Knowing the set is one thing. Having the cards you need to play in hand is totally different.

Where do you get a week from? The list will be out 2 days before the release.

It'll be out 2 days before the pre-release. Usually pre-release events are a week or so before the cards can actually be sold in stores (I think).

Two days before the Invitational/Pre-Release. The official release date of the set is on March 9th.

I'm guessing that the date it becomes legal will be March 9th. Either that or the next week.
Personally, I'd recommend that most venues should hold Limited events for a week or two before going to constructed again.

Hey guys,
Thank you all for your input concerning this policy. Here's the policy:
1st Edition Part 2 cards are legal for constructed play starting Thursday, March 15. They are legal for limited play starting at the Prerelease Tournaments, March 4.
The street date for 1st Edition Part 2 (when they should be in stores) is March 8.

Good question Zambo. I'm sure there would have been some illegal plays in the weeks before the 15th had it not been for your foresight.

Everyone would have known on Friday, but I saw that people were starting to get restless and coming up with their own ideas :D

i guess its a good thing for the lag time since not everyone will be at the prerelease and it gives the masses time to get to know the cards more in depth.

"Missed it by that much" in a Maxwell Smart kinda voice.
I guess I was off by a day. Opps.
Thank for the info.
