Hello! New here and decently new to TCGs in general. I have some clarifications on the rules....

I think I know the answer but just to be sure: Do the highest speed characters (be they in attack or in blocking party) attack first regardless of their party?

I am new and don't have any cards in front of me, so I'll use fake examples:
Attacker forms a party with three characters, two with speed 4, one of 3.
Blocker forms a party with characters that have speeds 5 and 4.

Does Blocker get to attack first with the speed 5 character?

Side question: Each speed group gets to assign their damage (but not of each character within the same speed group), correct?

As in the above example, the attackers get to attack on speed 4 turn and both speed 4 characters assign their damage to one target then on speed 3 turn that character can assign its damage independently, correct?

Hi Timmer,

Regardless if the character is in the blocking or attacking party, all characters with the same speed will assign damage during the same step (attacker first) then it all resolves simultaneously.

So in your example, the blocking character of speed 5 gets to assign damage first, then all 3 of the characters with speed 4, and if the speed 3 guy is still alive, he'd get last shot.

Hello and thanks for the reply!

Ok, that definitely answers my first question and was what I thought. The rules made it sound like the attacking party goes first no matter what if read a certain way.

My second part to the question is if each Character of the same speed has to assign their damage to the same target. Ie, Char1 (speed=4) and Char2 (speed=4) assign their damage to Mr Slowpoke (speed=3) of the blocking party. They cannot say Char1 attacks MrSlowpoke and Char2 attacks Slowpoke2, correct?

When assigning damage, you may break up the damage however you'd like amongst the opposing party.

Let's say your 2 speed 4 characters (2/1/4 and 4/2/4) and your opponent blocked with 3 characters (1/1/1, 2/2/2, 3/3/3). No tactics or abilities are used.
Speed 4 damage is assigned.
Your 2/1/4 assigns 2 damage to your opponents 3/3/3.
Your 4/2/4 assigns 1 damage to your opponents 3/3/3, 1 to the 1/1/1 and 2 to the 2/2/2.
All damage is resolved simultaneously and they all die.

Is that what you're asking?

Yes!

Actually, not only was that not what I was expecting I didn't know damage from a single source could be done to multiple targets. Very interesting and glad that I asked!
