Who HASN'T been able to get any cards yet?

I'm just testing the game through the demo decks and some revisions. I haven't been to a tournament yet, and don't exspect to. Though I would consider it if one were closer to me :chomp:

Me, I'm most sorry to say.

I'll get my hands on card either when:

A. My local card shop owner decides that it's okay to order Beta products.

B. A store in massachusetts FINALLY gets some Spoils merchandise.

I know how stubborn a lot of owners can be about new games, and I've been trying to consider how to approach my local shop owner (the most stubborn of kinds). Because if the game took off in store, I don't even think he'd order any of the actual release. So I was considering if anyone interested paid in advance, a "pre-order" so to speak. I know my shop owner would enjoy that a lot, since hes not losing anything. Maybe if so many people go in on boxes and decks and the like, splitting cost to what they want/need.

Anybody else have any ideas in convincing local shop owners to take part in this? I'd like ideas in small city areas. Not metros, they can get enough business in most cases to make up for any lost revenue on new ventures, I'm saying stores in 25,000 or so populated areas, two hours in any direction from metros.

He said he'd look into it, but each time I go he seems to have forgotten what game I'm talking about or else I have to reexplain that it's free.

I hope in the long run he'll come around.

actually, that's incorrect. If you can get a group of eight people who want to play, and are able to prove that to TGI (Fridays!) they will send you a tournament kit. That was mentioned on some other thread.

My card shop holds Magic tournaments every other week, so on off weeks, we could play The Spoils!

So many people without tangible cards? It kinda makes me feel...I dunno. I guess I took my location for granted. Well, I hope everyone who doesn't have cards can get them so that The Spoils can become popular worldwide! :D I wonder if ever there will eventually be a "The Spoils Online" sorta deal where everyone who can't get tangible cards can still play with the community on the web. It may be a bit too soon for ideas like that, but I think it would be awesome. :)

I have a burning desire to play this game, but don't have the access to get the cards. I'm not sure how to approach the owner of the LGS I inhabit from time to time (his store is 13 miles away). I don't know how receptive he will be.
Are there ANY stores in Northeast/Central PA that anyone knows of that carry The Spoils??

If GenCon SoCal is close to you then Shuffle and Cut has a store fairly close to you. It's in La Mirada. Maybe you were planning on making a trip for Gencon, but if not, then check out shuffle's website for more info. www.shuffleandcut.com

I'm on the Central Coast of California near Santa Barbara. I looked for anything local and couldnt find it and the only 2 events I have found have been 3+ hours away. Did I just miss some events or is it mostly an eastern states release? :(

I've never seen that happen, but I suppose it is possible. The game at the point would either be rules a draw or be ruled a win for whomever has the most influence. (I'm not sure how :chomp: will make these types of rullings.)

I went to an event near my house for open beta, but the person running it forgot to bring the kit!

BUt!!!!!

She gave me her email address and told me to email her my address and she would mail me enough cards to get 2 decks together.

5 days go buy, and lo-and-behold, I GET A WHOLE BOX OF PACKS!!! 24 PACKS FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to encourage tenacious games to hurry up and send us cards so the spoils and tenacious games can start out on the right foot and show they care about getting their name out to every one.

The free packs are scheduled to be sent in the near future. The :chomp: staff care about their game on a personal level like I have never seen before. They are doing their very best in getting The Spoils out to everyone. With the limitations of time they have rolled out the most innovative and ambitious plans of any other card gaming company in history. I am sure The Spoils will come to your local area soon, There are some very good ways to help insure this will happen. Go to your local game/hobby shop and pre-order some boxes of booster packs and ask them when they will be holding their next tournament.;) With some well placed enthusiasm and persistance The Spoils will grow all over the world.:D

I am am looking forward to seeing this game in shops in PA soon...I hope. They are stubborn here about new games as well. But I would love to get in on the Beta somehow. If anyone has any advice how to go about this, please, let me know.
