Orgy Den Smoke Out?

Ok I like the card guys its decent but im gonna make a suggestion that we not go down the slippery slope of adding really STUPID names to cards in an attempt to be edgy. So far this is the first card in the game that has me a bit leary. While I see it as just a joke and not that big a deal two people I showed the card (younger players) both emediatly said, "I hope my parents dont see that".

While its kinda funny and not a huge deal, was it neccissary? Does it have anything to do with what the card does? Couldnt it have just been Smoke Out? I for one will not be adding this card to my decks. I just dont think it shows the kinda publicity our game needs right now. Im still trying to bring more players into the game and a few players I have already started into the game for sure will not like this one.

While im not usually the voice of reason and enjoy the flavor text even when it is a tad over the top, when stuff starts leaking into the title of cards then It starts to effect the way I recruit for our game.

Look at how many suggestions there were about Degenerate Molestation. The reason it got by was because most players "myself included" saw the art as an offset making it very ammusing, but nothing about this card makes it seem like a joke. I would have much rather it been called Smoke Out and had the text make reference to what was going on inside.

It wasnt until your post that I reread it and realized it was "orgy", I kept thinking it was "ogrey"(you know, the fantasy creature kind) and I couldnt help wonder why they'd name a card "ogrey den smoke out".

It makes more sense now. :o

I agree with both in that honestly its the style of the game and in that case why didnt your group care about errotic assassin. Its bestiality and shows a woman humping a mau to death lol. What about voidial perversion having guys looking at naked chicks in the girls bathroom. Honestly its the style of the game. Could it get to wacky yea sure but for right now lets let them do their thing. If there is one thing I have learned its that I dont work for :chomp: (yet) so I shouldnt assume they are a bunch of retards who dont know what they're doing.

You have a point there, but again I think DMs art is what really softens the blow for alot of people. When I first heard the cards name i was like "WTF" but after seeing it i was laughing while saying "WTF" lol.

Nice..I am split on here since all my players are older 15+ and so I can't really speak. But I think as long as they don't go to far XXX they will be fine. They have thrown alot of funny stuff in without killing it yet we just have to trust:chomp:

Nice card, but eh i mean kind of dissapointed i can't sit down and show my deck to my parent.
I find myself to be mature for my age (15).
Although i guarantee that my parents would not want an orgy card in my posession.

But once again i cant help but laugh and just love this game even more when they make silly names like this.
Regardless of the names of the cards i still love the spoils.
This being said i do tend to agree the name might be a little rough.
Cant wait to run it though =).

To be quite honest, there were several cards that kind of bothered me, although slightly, in the first set. For everything else the game had going for it, I really wasn't that bothered particularly because I could use the gearsmiths' at the very least. I haven't seen the pic. on this card, but I hope it isn't as bad as it sounds.

I understand that The Spoils world is wacky, but how sexually explicit and morally imposing will this go? I don't believe that it is all that bad, primarily because they aren't really making cards that can't be real life situations. (Although some are definitely crazy.)

I think my main question is how many cards are they actually going to make like this? A few don't bother me, but I don't want it to be overwhelming. Personally, I love the Gearsmiths', not only because they use 1337 in the card texts, but because of their lack of the gruesome, lack of the morally imposing cards, etc.

I personally don't use cards like Voidal Perversion, Erotic Assassin, Entrancing Harlot, etc. and that's a personal decision. It doesn't bother me that other people use the cards, but I think it mis-represents who I am and what I believe.

There is a fine line with just making a game fun and making your players feel morally violated. I honestly love the fact that they are willing to do something different, to go out of the box, but I would hate to qualify for the cruise and then the 3rd or 4th set comes out and the line is finally crossed. At that point I have a tough decision, make a moral compromise or not go on the cruise.

Honestly, I love everything The Spoils has going for it. I am just concerned that they are going to violate their players by making too many such cards. Although there is a good number of players who it doesn't affect at all, I believe there is a sufficient portion of the market that would be affected.

As far as I've seen, TG is very, very smart and intuitive about all of their decisions. I hope they find the fine line and stay behind it. I will completely support The Spoils until I feel that line has been crossed.

I'd like some word from up top about how many such cards they believe they'll be making. Regardless if I get it or not, game on... game on...

Your not wrong for believing the way you do but a card like errotic assassin. Its just a name a picture and some text hell I dont even look at the pictures while playing and Im not going to feel like Im a dirty person for playing a piece of cardboard with a picture and words on it. Now if it was actual pornography then probably but honestly I dont think my piecies of cardboard represent who I moraly am.

I don't mind the cards... but I can see where people are coming from, when the game says 13 and up fine.. but some parents might object to there 13 year old playing with suggestive cards... I do not believe we have reached a point where any lines have been crossed yet.. but in a day and age where people are sue happy stranger things have happened...

But on the Bright side maybe some crackpot will sue them and it will be featured on the daily show giving them tons of free press :)

I love the "orgy":D What can I say, the card is awesomely powerful AND fills a common slot. Not to mention the "turn zero" use it has. I expect to see a lot out of this card and others that can be used in the same manner. Another shining example of how :chomp: is bringing Tcg's and professional play to a whole new level. I like the card and its flavor. The picture keeps things clean (if you haven't seen it, look at the 'Turn Zero' article on the front page) and the title's amusing. Now it would have been even better if it had had some additional flavor text, but you can't have it all...

Like I said, it doesn't bother me at the moment, but at some point it could. I don't fell bad for using them, I just choose not to. I don't think of people any different if they use the cards, because in the ends that's just what they are: cards. I was simply saying that I don't want it to get too far, period.

There are alot of rage cards that are uber violent but rudo is unique.
