Can this feature be implemented?
It can help both budget players and allow calculating of common appearance percentages in booster packs.

It could be done, though there is a problem: cards have been printed with different rarities. Beefy Elf (http://www.metatime.net/athena/search.php?name=%22633fy%2031f%22), for instance, went from being an uncommon in Open Beta to a common in First Edition.
I initially saw Athena as a tool for card research and deck building, for which rarity searching is irrelevant. However, I can buy the "budget players" argument, which means that the main question left is whether rarity searching should be inclusive (e.g. a card would hit on a search for "commons" if it were ever printed as a common) or exclusive (e.g. a card would only hit on a search for "commons" if it were only printed as a common). This could be further refined by searching by set - cards would only be returned if they appeared in the desired rarity in at least one of the searched by sets, and would be totally inclusive (e.g. returned regardless) if they were ever printed in the desired rarity in any set if the search is not set specific.

Inclusive searching would be great. A possible solution to the "multiple rarities" problem would be to include a hideaway note on cards notfying that there are differences in the printed versions of this card.

Done. (This part is filler to get past vBulletin's idiotic comment filtering.)
