I am pretty sure TG should be at Origins this year (Okay I would hope so since it is bigger than GenCon SoCal). I just wanted to let everyone know that Pre-Reg ends tomorrow so if TG can confirm that they will or will not be at Origins then we might want to get pre-reg today or tomorrow before the price goes up. (Also you can get two tickets for the price of one if you take someone who has never been to Origins.)

Just wanted to let everyone know Origins has extended its early bird special on tickets to the 31st of Jan. Hopefully by then we will know TG has or lack there of to attend.

Origins was not that much fun last year. I played BSG CCG but no wotc or upper deck there -- was very dead, although i got in a bunch of SoC and Puerto Rico

If TG isnt going to have a full event calendar there i would pass on it unless you really are into board games

Origins has been a topic of much debate (and it was last year for us as well).
I'm sorry to say, Jedi, but right now its one of a very small number of potential events that is in the "no" column :(
The thinking is very much along the lines that Dapuma mentioned. With very few TCG publihsers there, the con attracts an audience that is not TCG focused. Great for other tabletop: board games, pen and paper rpgs, tactical simulations etc., just not a lot of TCG players.
We'll announce the slate of "Special Events" (the "con" appearences) for 2007 shortly. Its pretty extensive and I'm thinking everyone should be pretty happy.

Scott you can always hit up the dress up all fancy and pretend like we are anime characters crowd at Dragon-Con! Actually it probably wouldn't be as bad as I warned you it would be last year before the game really got started down south. It would draw a nice crowd from NC/SC and Orlando area.

Hopefully we will be drinking white wine on the Rhine that time of year though. :)

That is kinda a disappointment to hear seeing. I haven't gone in the last couple years but when I used to go it had a better turn out for gamers (and TCGers than GenCon SoCal). Anyway awaiting 'The List' to see what is doable. Thanks Scott.

You put a $5k or $1k at Origins and you will get people playing. The CCG hall is normally hopping most of the day. Maybe not come out in full force, but find someone local to run some tourneys and do some demos. It is always more exposure.

I totally agree with Rorik, especially since WotC or UDE isn't going to be there. Less competition for :chomp: to deal with at Origins, plus the people that play other games that can't play in tournaments there will be itching to play something; what a great opportunity to recruit tons of new players!

Come on, :chomp: ! Show Ohio some love...:D

I completely agree entirely with Zambo and Rorik. They've got some excellent points. If you guys don't come to Origins, you will be passing up an opportunity to make a great fan-base in one of the larger states.

I could bully tons of Fullmetal Alchemist players into attending Spoils events at Origins, plus would get me a place to crash. Then again, last year's regional only attracted 14 players...

Never been to Origins, but know a few folks who go every year. Can also try and bully them out of WoW for the Spoils for one event.

Ahhh. I tell you what TG. You want an event there and not come out? Maybe have just some of us host an event for you to get some new blood. Maybe just a demo space and just little 8 man sealed like you did at GenCon Indy??? I am willing to volunteer for room and badges (of course) and I am sure there are others that would do the same to help the game out. Let us know.
