Another question.

If someone were to use a 1337 to reduce the numeric cost of a card from 8 to 4 and you use Forced Recruitment (Cost:2 Pay: Pay X where X is the numeric cost of the card being played.) would X be 4 because of 1337 or 8 because that is what is stated on the card?

The sequence of events and stack would be like this.

1. Player A plays 1337.
2. Player B doesn't respond to 1337.
3. Player A plays 8 cost character for a cost of 4.
4. Player B plays Forced Recruitment for 2 and pays 4 to steal the 8 cost character.

Now in step 4 should Player B have to pay 8 or 4?

When a cost is reduced through 1337 or some other card, the numeric cost of the card does not change, just what you are required to pay.

So, in the example way up above:

1. Player A plays 1337.
2. Player B doesn't respond to 1337.
3. Player A plays 8 cost character for a cost of 4.
4. Player B plays Forced Recruitment for 2 and pays 8 to steal the 8 cost character.

(of course, costs are all paid together, so it'd be 10, but I digress...)

Although A only had to pay 4 to play the character, its numeric cost is still 8, and that is what Forced Recruitment "looks for."
