Has anyone else noticed, that while still classed as a "Mau", the art for Pettifogger depicts a human judge?

Yeah, it really makes no sense. Plus, I really hate that type of wig. The Beta picture was so much better!

The art itself is not bad, it just doesn't seem to make much sense on that particular card.

He shaves and puts the wig over his ears to lend himself extra credibility.

I think Lucien is on to something... everyone loves shaved... I think I am going to stop myself there before I post something that will need to be edited

Compare http://www.metatime.net/athena/1st/Pettifogger.jpg to http://www.metatime.net/athena/1st/Mau%20Consultant.jpg,The faces on humans are alot differant...not that the art comes into play.

yeah, I was basically just making an excuse. None the less, unless someone has a better idea...

Who says the picture has to be of the character? Is there a rule... maybe thats the chump that has to listen to the pettifogger?

yeah I said it...

Well a look back in magic to one of MaRo's fond stories of the Dwarves that became goblins because the submitted art was wrong. I'm surprised somethine similar did not happen here and instead they kept it a Mau, unless tribal is going to matter for the Mau some day...

Maybe we'll get updated art in Part 2, who knows.

its very interesting and I never noticed he was a mau I always chalked him up as a lawyer since I never played beta. Now that I see this I dont know why they left him a mau maybe it will be erratad. Right now though there is nothing that specificly affects maus so no need for a change but good catch.

Maybe he married a Mau and took her sur-species?

Psssh.... It'd figgure that Bankers can't even identify thier own species. :p

And the Sneaking Spitspider is Subtype.

If they make a card that beefs up Subtype type cards, he'll be in business.

It's been errata'd. SS is a lurker.

I like him better as subtype.
It kind of makes me sad to see him be anything else...

It's all Josh Lytyl's fault hopefully he will find this with the search function and know what he already knows:D
