Playing a card VS put a card into play?

1) Edited - no judge test questions please. - Matt

2)Do cards that are "Put into play" in a turn count towards the "cards played" in a turn?

2a)---example: Playing toolbox elf...putting into play an item......would Beefy elf then be a legal play?
2b)---Or would you be required to play one more card?

Cards that are put into play per the instructions of other cards are not played. In your example, you would need to play 1 more card before playing 633fy 31f would be legal.
