I'm serving in Korea but I'm going to Gencon this year. Is it worth me to sign up for the events? I won't be able to play in any of the preevents, since I don't think the ARMS are supported.

I hope we won't have to play in any of the event before GenCon for it to worth signing up for GenCon. I am pretty sure there won't be any that I can attend either but I am loaded up on my Spoils GenCon events.

None of the events at GenCon, or in general during Open Beta, have any kind of "qualifier." Just show up and you can play :) Nearly all events during Open Beta will be sealed pack events.

I'm sure there gonna send them to you as soon as possible.. there pushing this game real hard. I'll be at gencon and ill be there to play and help demo the game on thursday. If you need anything im sure ill have so much cards since ill be drafting like a nut. Packs likely won't be sent out until early-mid August. I wouldn't count on cards showing up before GenCon. Now we just got an issue with the forums worked out, I'll begin making a FAQ for this kind of info :cool:

I have a Gencon related question, is it in one single location, or is there a Gencon event in each state (more or less)??

There are three GenCons.

1. The biggest, and typically the one somebody refers to when they simply say "GenCon" is GenCon: Indianapolis. It's held in Indianapolis, Indiana(duh) every year near the end of August. It's the only one I really know about.

2. GenCon: SoCal, somewhere in Southern California. I'm pretty sure.

3. GenCon: Europe, Held in the UK, I think...

GenCon is (currently) located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Why did you post this question here? GenCon Indy is held in Indianapolis, Indiana and is the biggest gaming convention on the planet bar none. There is also GenCon SoCal held in Los Angeles, California but last I knew it wasn't that big yet. Origins held in Columbus, Ohio is probaly the next largest con though The Spoils won't be there this year. Next might to Dragoncon held in Atlanta, Georgia I belive it is a miss of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Gaming. Hope this helps a bit.


Boy do I feel dumb I didn't see everyone else's posts about GenCon. Also wanted to add I think GenCon Europe has been canceled. I think last year in Barcelona was the last year. I am not certain on that but I think they were not getting the turnouts they wanted.
