Quick Question--

If I play a Rapine and Steal my opponents Recapitulating Apparition.

At some later point in the game, if the Recaptiulating Apparation dies, can my opponent, the owner of the card, pay 1 to revive the Apparation from his lost pile?

Hey folks,

Apologies for not having an official word on this issue sooner. With Gen Con and Thanksgiving and the post-Thanksgiving 3-day food coma, things got a little backed up...

The quick answer is that the Recapitualting Apparition's owner will be able to pay the 1 and put the card back into play.

The trigger condition is "if this card is put into your discard pile from play." It triggers in its owner's discard pile and he (or she (or it)) will then have the option to pay the 1.

Unlike other games, the trigger does not exist as a separate entity on any sort of pile, stack, chain, heap, queue, or list. It does not look back to see the state of the game as it existed before it left play. You simply "follow the instructions of the trigger immediately."

I hope this helps.

Good gaming all!
